Community Ambassador Program

EUPA is dedicated to investing in the growth of our sport by empowering and acknowledging individuals in our community who demonstrate leadership and support for their communities. EUPA is looking for community members to volunteer in the following roles to cultivate and solidify a more consistent, welcoming product for newcomers to our community.

This is a pilot project with its scope initially focused on Community Organizers for Wednesday Spring/Summer league. Depending on community feedback, we will look to extend the program to fall and winter leagues.

We will also be taking applications for Community Coaches on a rolling basis.

Community Organizer

  • Duties/Responsibilities
    • Organize independent pickup events around the city
      • Prioritize shared play opportunities amongst participants
      • Cultivate a high level of spirit in all games
      • Help grow the sport by ensuring fair, safe, and fun play
    • Facilitate EUPA organized pickup events
      • Lead a general warm-up
      • Make teams
      • Manage the game
      • Prioritize shared play opportunities amongst participants
      • Cultivate a high level of spirit in all games
      • Help grow the sport by ensuring fair, safe, and fun play
    • Support beginner leagues by leading a team and help teach the basics of the game
      • Adopt and apply a basic EUPA Beginner “curriculum” of skills
  • Requirements
    • Must pass a basic rules quiz
    • Must participate in at least one EUPA league per year
    • Must demonstrate a strong grasp of applicable ultimate frisbee skills
    • Must demonstrate knowledge and application of basic strategies

Community Coach

  • Duties/Responsibilities
    • Lead/Coach EUPA community clinics
      • Prioritize shared play opportunities amongst participants
      • Cultivate a high level of spirit in all games
      • Help grow the sport by ensuring fair, safe, and fun play
    • Contribute to the development of a basic curriculum for EUPA clinics
  • Requirements
    • Must pass an advanced rules quiz
    • Must participate in at least one EUPA league per session
    • Must have advanced knowledge of skill and strategies
    • Must be able to demonstrate skills applied to advanced play
    • Must pass a vulnerable sector criminal record check to coach any youth events
