EUPA Indoor Session 1 cancelled Nov 5 and 10 for COVID-19 quarantine
We have been informed that a member of our Indoor Session 1 cohort league has tested positive for COVID-19. This individual participated on Thursday, October 29th, and did not participate on Tuesday November 3rd - developing symptoms and testing positive in the intermediary time.
We will be cancelling league play on Thursday, November 5th (tonight) and Tuesday, November 10th.
Members of our cohort league who are a part of that cohort and were present on Thursday October 29 are considered to have been in "close contact" with one another. As such there are legal requirements that we must all comply with according to Alberta Health Services:
- You are legally required to quarantine for 14 days and monitor for symptoms if you are a close contact of a person who tested positive for COVID-19.
- If you become sick with a known COVID-19 symptom during this time, you must isolate for an additional 10 days from the beginning of symptoms or until you are feeling well, whichever takes longer.
- You are not legally required to be tested, but you may do so if you choose. Note that a negative test result does not remove the legal requirement to quarantine for 14 days.
- Members of your family/household/close contacts of yours DO NOT need to isolate, but should self-monitor for symptoms.
The 14 days of isolation begins retroactive to the date of exposure - last Thursday, October 29th. As such we will aim to resume normal operations on Thursday November 12th.
AHS may still be in contact with participants as part of their contact-tracing protocols. If requested, contact information and participation records will be shared with them.
Note that this quarantine information does not apply to our Tuesday-only players or anyone who was absent on Thursday, October 29th.
